The short explanation of this alert was:

Corporations are trying to take away workers' right to join together in unions by classifying millions of workers as "supervisors" -- even though they don't hire, fire, evaluate or oversee the workers they supposedly "supervise". For example, a nurse who serves as a "shift supervisor" once each week could be considered a supervisor and ineligible for union membership!

A recent series of decisions by the National Labor Relations Board has produced this absurd misinterpretation of the law. Unless Congress acts, millions of skilled workers across America could lose their right to join together in unions!

Take action: Tell your members of Congress to co-sponsor and support the RESPECT Act, legislation that would close this loophole and protect the basic rights of millions of working men and women.
